Where We Are Going
Whiteface Mountain was the host of the 1932 & 1980 Winter Olympic offers the greatest vertical drop in the East, 3,430 feet. Whiteface features 90 trails accessed by 11 lifts including 1 gondola, over three mountain peaks. Major upgrades to the Whiteface snowmaking system, enhancing the on-snow experience. 35% expert, 40% intermediate and 25% beginner, 98% of the area is covered with snowmaking. Ride the Cloud-splitter Gondola, New High-Speed War Horse Quad, Gladded Areas & Terrain Park. Construction on Legacy Lodge, a 10,000 square foot lodge replacing the Mid-station Lodge that was lost in a fire in November of 2019. Legacy Lodge also offers 200 square feet of heated outdoor patio, to enjoy the magnificent views of Whiteface.
Where We Are Staying
The High Peaks Resort is located on Main Street, in the center of the village. All rooms have private balconies or patios, with lake or mountain views. There are two indoor pools, two whirlpools, an exercise room, nightly Happy Hour, and live entertainment in the Dancing Bear Lounge. Village activities and restaurants are located within walking distance. Lake Placid also features Bobsledding, Luge, Ice-Skating, Olympic venues and more.
